The Hybrid Process

Subject

Hand drawn with Procreate

  • No AI prompt was used in the creation of this image.

The artist created a piece of original artwork based on the theme of “Morning Social”.

Landscape

AI generated with Whisk

  • A little clearing on a gravel path with little rocks speckled about. There are little twigs and blades of grass along the edge of the path. The background is blurry but suggests a meadow and mid range and a suburb off in the background

Style

AI generated with Whisk

  • A whimsical, charming, stop-motion animation, meticulously crafted diorama image with high rendering quality, soft fuzzy felt-like textures, and natural, diffused golden hour lighting where the light shines from the front. A cheerful, dark brown duck character, styled as a sailor, stands on a surface covered in countless tiny, iridescent water droplets. The duck has a plump, rounded body and a slightly textured, feathered appearance. Its head is tilted slightly to the left, and its eyes are closed in a happy, smiling expression. Its bright orange-yellow beak is slightly open in a smile. The duck wears a white, textured sailor's cap, a teal blue scarf tied in a knot, and a striped sailor shirt with horizontal white, blue, and darker blue stripes. A small, dark blue anchor symbol is on the lower left of the shirt. Its dark brown wings are spread outwards, and its short, orange-yellow webbed feet are visible, one slightly raised. On its left, the duck holds a small, light tan-colored suitcase with a retractable handle and small, light-colored wheels. The background surface, dominated by off-white, cream, and light beige, sparkles with water droplets, reflecting soft, warm light from the front. The depth of field is shallow, blurring the background into soft, glowing circles of light.

Final Whisk Product

After several iterations this was the final output from Whisk, but there were still a few tweaks that had to be made.

  • The cups all had to match.

  • the cigarette needed to be tied to the head.

The image was then taken into Nano Banana to make the final adjustments. Since this software is currently stronger at making small tweaks without changing the whole image.
